Here it is folks. Internal use of passports in the "land of the free." Exactly what I warned would be put on the table. Many States are forbidding participation in this program. Those States residents will potentially be forced to provide a passport to travel within the bounds of our own Country. This is a complete and utter travesty for freedom.

You could now potentially be blocked from traveling without having a "license" from the Federal Government. Completely unnacceptable behavior from our "representative" congress creeps and our "homeland security" protectionist corps. Do not give up your freedom to travel. Do not give up your natural, god given right to do as you please within our country. Definitely do not give it up for some terrorist boogeyman. The end result will be far worse under the thumb of an oppressive government put in place by our own apathy and unfounded fears. 

Americans may need passports to board domestic flights or to picnic in a national park next year if they live in one of the states defying the federal Real ID Act.

 

The act, signed in 2005 as part of an emergency military spending and tsunami relief bill, aims to weave driver's licenses and state ID cards into a sort of national identification system by May 2008. The law sets baseline criteria for how driver's licenses will be issued and what information they must contain.
