WASHINGTON —  A Republican delegate said he will introduce legislation that would cut state funding to local governments that do not check on the immigration status of residents who receive public assistance.

Prince William County Del. Jeffrey M. Frederick said those that don't comply should lose all their state funding, including transportation and economic development dollars.

Sounds good to me...I think. I certainly don't want illegal immigrants to be getting my hard earned tax money in the form of welfare benefits. Yet, I must admit that I'm a little concerned about trusting the State's DCF offices to ensure that I receive my fair share of federal taxes in state level services.
